Line drawing

The easiest way to draw horizontal lines is with the help of a fence (figure a), by guiding the pencil or graphion close to the upper edge of the ruler and keeping it constantly at the same angle of inclination to the plane of the paper, without tilting it or to the right, nor to the left of the ruler.

Vertical lines are drawn with the help of a fence and a triangle attached to it (drawing b). They can also be drawn using a stiffened triangle pattern, in which the bottom triangle replaces the fence (drawing c). We hold this triangle with the fingers of the left hand, so that it supports the triangle, which we move. Instead of the bottom triangle, you can use a regular ruler (drawing d).

Diagonal lines can be drawn at any of the most common angles: 45° , 60° and 30 ° using the appropriate side of the triangle attached to the fence (picture a and b); they can also be drawn with a set of triangles or determined with a protractor.
