Ball

Ball.

At the very beginning, let's start with something seemingly simple. Why only seemingly? Because it is not easy to get the three-dimensional effect of the sphere. Such an exercise will be very useful when we are going to draw, for example, fruit, buildings and other shaded solids.

Necessary utensils:

Sheet ( A4)

Pencils (Best, if we use several, of different hardness - HB [sketch], B [light shade], B2-B5 [stronger shadow outlines] )

At the very beginning, let's start by drawing a circle on a piece of paper. Let's try, that the wheel should be as like a wheel. On the other hand, I don't advise you to use a compass. It may be, the circle will be too accurate, and at the same time it can rob us of our satisfaction.

Once we do this, Shade a part of the circle in this way with arcuate movements, to determine the source of the incident light. If we decide to do so, that the left side of the sphere will be brighter, let's stick to it consistently. How to start shading? First of all, don't draw too many lines at the edges, it will be a brighter spot, because the own shadow is lighter in value. Let's place the darkest point diagonally from the brightest place.

Do not be afraid of very different shades, Color. They will only enhance the effect. All we have to do is correct the details, draw the substrate, slightly shaded background and, of course, shadow on the plane – relatively oval, like a ball. The final effect will not be sensational, because in the end it's just a bullet. You can give it a character close to the real one, but it's just an exercise. It is important that there are shadows, reflection of light – try to focus mainly on this.
