Get to know , that Professor Sponge was sent to wet pits. 10th episode of the children's series “The kidnapping of Baltazar Gąbka” (1969-1970), based on the popular novel by Stanisław Pagaczewski (1965), in the drawing technique at the Cartoon Film Studio in Bielsko-Biała. Alfred Ledwig was the author of the visual design of the characters for the film and books. Traditional motifs from the legend of Prince Krak and the Wawel Dragon have been humorously modernized and tamed. The figures of the Wawel Dragon and his cook Bartłomiej of the Zielona Pietruszka coat of arms evoke associations with Sherlock Holmes and Doctor Watson. Krak ordered them to find Professor Baltazar Gąbka, flying frog researcher, lost in the Rain Country. They are followed by the mysterious Don Pedro de Pommidore, a spy from the Rain Country, codename X-54. The popularity of the series made, that the sayings "Mamma mia" and "Karramba" have entered the colloquial language of Poles. Don Pedro was voiced by Wiesław Michnikowski.
