We learn colors

We learn colors. How our child mastered the basic colors.

Admission

Reaching backwards, learning colors with us probably started when our son was just one year old. Although I am not entirely sure about this date as well, because with us, the science of colors has become unknowingly. It was not particularly planned - it came out spontaneously. Zaczęło się od pokazywania kolorów na ubraniach i ruszyła lawina 😉.

We learn colors

When it comes to any special books to help you master the colors, we didn't have any and it didn't even occur to me, to buy them. Only colors surround us, hence, there are plenty of opportunities to show them to your child. Therefore, the book was unnecessary when studying colors with us. We also did not use specific learning methods, so that the child knows the colors. It was enough to just show colors, e.g.. while having fun, that my little son might master them.

One of the first moments when we showed colors and called them it was on the example of clothes, we were wearing. Then we pointed our finger at the selected color on our play mat and we spoke out loud what color it was. Going one step further, we looked for other items of the same color in the room and pointed them out. In order not to confuse our heads at the beginning, we chose one color and repeated it over and over again on another example. I consider, that the method of showing and repeating is best for the child to understand new things, words, etc..

Our bowling pins were our biggest hit in science of colors. I once bought my son an ordinary one, plastic pins for approx 10 PLN for the purpose of future motor skills training. As it turned out, at the beginning they were mainly used to fix the colors. Each bowling pin has a different color and the two attached balls also. One day my son brought me one bowling pin - I told him what color it was and he liked it so much, that this game continues to this day (syn ok 2,5 year). The child loved bringing a single bowling pin one by one, to know its color. To test the knowledge, we ask the child, to show us which bowling pin is e.g.. green. This game became a habit for my son because he did, the fact that he knows these colors a long time, sometimes he wants to have such simple fun.

Another example of color fixing in our case were colored balloons. We had several balloons inflated, which my little son played with. If they are colorful, why not record the knowledge? Here is a diagram similar to the one above. Playing with naming the colors and asking for or bringing the appropriate balloon.

Nasz synek codziennie bawi się oczywiście samochodami 😉 A pierwsze skrzypce grają resoraki.

After them, the second, ale też ważną rolę odgrywają samochody marki Wader. Why not mention the colors while having fun? Of course, yes! While playing with colorful cars, we asked a child, to indicate where the red color is, yellow etc.. A request to indicate the black spring, and even silver, zloty etc.. Syn był zachwycony 😉

Somehow in the middle of our learning the only help in learning colors, na którą zdecydowałam się kupić była gra Kapitan Nauka Loteryjka. The colors. It was mainly a purchase, to preserve the colors than just learning them. In addition, practice perceptiveness and fine motor skills in our children.

Summary

As you can see from our example, you don't need much, nor do you have to invest a lot, to teach a child to colors in a pleasant and effective way. A little willingness and time devoted to the child is enough, and the results will come quickly. While having a good time, our child acquired new knowledge and willingly preserves it to this day.
